Behind the Music
Focusing on Human Connection
Madison Zahorsky, soprano, is an alumnus of Mannes Conservatory, The New School NY
where she received her Masters Degree and Westminster Choir College where she received her bachelor's degree. Madison is a student of Arthur Levy and coaches with Neal Goren. She recently made her debut with Teatro Grattacielo in Phoenicia, NY as ‘Donna Anna’ from Mozart’s Don Giovanni. In addition to her position this year as a Young Artist in the Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy, Madison leads a private music studio and is the assistant director of music at First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, PA. Recent performances include Sceneworks at Mannes where she performed as ‘Beth’ from Mark Adamo’s Little Women, her 2022 recital tour “The Nine Greek Definitions of Love” in various halls across three states, and several Oratorio works including Vivaldi’s Beatus Vir in Wayne, PA. In 2023 Madison prepared Donna Anna with The Light Opera of New Jersey, she is presenting a new recital tour, and leading a masterclass in coordination with The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts.
Madison has been teaching for over 5 years in various studios and homes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. She likes to focus on healthy voice production for each distinct age group as the voice grows and develops. Her specialized focus in dramatic work and audition practice is especially suited for those who are working professionally or preparing for an education in music. Madison’s goal with every student is to inspire imagination and creativity through curiosity. Madison incorporates aspects of Music History, Ear Training, and Music Theory in all of her lessons as tools to create a well rounded understanding and insightful performance. Her piano teaching also incorporates these aspects in addition to the standard technical training, which is particularly helpful for aspiring collaborative pianists.
When Madison is not teaching, she can be found curled up with a book (usually squealing with delight) or cooking up her latest recipe in the kitchen when she spends far too much time.
